Established in the heart of the Swiss Alps, in the Canton of Valais, the ADLANIA Foundation is a cultural and spiritual institution dedicated to preserving the memory of Islam in its spiritual, intellectual, and artistic dimensions.
Founded in 2014 by Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, guide of the Darqâwiyya Shâdhiliyya Sufi Order, this non-profit institution regards heritage as a living source of knowledge, transmission, and serenity, inspired by a wisdom that has been passed down through the centuries.
The Foundation houses one of the most remarkable private archival collections dedicated to spiritual Islam. Its holdings include several thousand works, among them manuscripts and rare editions dating back to the seventeenth century, as well as photographs, audio and audiovisual archives, and works of art reflecting different periods of Islamic civilization.
ADLANIA is committed to the rigorous preservation of this heritage, its scholarly cataloguing, and the facilitation of access for researchers, cultural institutions, and the wider public.
Through its cultural, editorial, and artistic activities, the Foundation promotes a culture of peace and dialogue among peoples, inspired by the wisdom of Sufism as a living heritage that unites beauty, knowledge, and meaning.
